Tuesday, January 5, 2021. 1:00 PM Eastern. Webinar: Centering Native Voices In Indigenous Sciences to Address Climate Change. Paulette Blanchard, University of Kansas. Sponsored by NCAR/UCAR. More information here.
Since contact, Indigenous Nations of Turtle Island and beyond have been trying to teach colonists and settler colonists about how to live among all our relations of place. We have shared our knowledges and wisdoms of all the places and beings we have deep relationships with and responsibilities to. It has been over 500 years of teaching and still today we are working towards progress and finally seeing positive results. The question becomes then, “Is it too late? Have we gone past the tipping point too far?” In this discussion I will share what I have learned from my work in the spaces of convergent and convergence science with Indigenous and Earth sciences and the people doing the work to address climate changes.
