New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will be holding a webinar in observance of New Jersey Food Waste Prevention Day, entitled “Spread the Good: Improving Food Access and Reducing Food Waste” on September 16th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Individuals, local government officials and businesses can learn safe recovery methods, connect with small and large scale food access organizations, and stay for screenings of food science student video submissions showing off clever recipes to reduce food waste. Webinar attendance is worth 2.0 CEU credits for Certified Recycling Professionals.

 The webinar’s expert panel includes:

  • Karen Franczyk, Center for EcoTechnology, will provide an overview of food donation laws.
  • Joan Liptrot, Rider University, will share information about Rider’s Food Resource Pantry and provide food donation strategies for students.
  • Jennifer Apostol and Olivia Forte-Gardner, REPLENISH (formerly MCFOODS), will discuss how the REPLENISH network brings the Middlesex County community together to end hunger.
